Precious Metals, Jade by Debi Starr portrays a beautiful, expressive woman. This stunning mixed media piece is on a custom round birchwood panel. The artist combined silver and gold leaf with metallic paints, powders, inks, charcoal, mica, acrylics, and resin. The sparkle is brilliant and the sheen, pearlescent. The positive and negative space come together in harmony like a Yin Yang. The dynamic composition, strong drawing and rich palette work beautifully together.

She graduated from The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before heading to the windy city to attend The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She holds a BFA as well as her Teaching Certificate in Art Education and she has successfully built her reputation as an artist and a private art teacher.
